I think you may be confusng depressing music verses "blues music"
. As Muddy wrote....the blues had a baby, and they called it rock 'n roll....or something like that. The Stones, Allman Bros., early Clapton, etc. are nuthin' but the blues, electrified through a stack of Marshals. Blues music doesn't have to be sad or depressing....I could go on and on, but I'll let others chime in...
