Born and raised in Mississippi, let me tell you, the Blues isn't something you listen to, it's a cultural experience. Either you get it or you don't. But once you get it, it's in your soul for good. It's far from depressing, in fact it's more of a celebration that things really aren't that bad. I consider myself fortunate to have had the advantage to attend a Blues venue nearly any night of the week in my younger days, one of my favorite local performers was Sam Myers.
