I had a '78 for a couple years that I bought for a song. It sat in a friend's parents' garage for 6 years or so as the owner was in Switzerland on a work assignment. Push came to shove and the car had to go. After some fluid changes and a good cleaning she was (wait for it) reliable! It did have a Weber with electric choke, car started every single time without any hesitation. At the end of the day the "restoration" that we performed on it in the late 90's was showing some wear (bondo started chipping off the rockers) and I decided it was time to cut it lose before I ended up starting a project I couldn't finish (replacing the sills).

They really are fun cars. It seems everyone has a story about one. Kids love them at local cruise nights and they really are a blast to wind up. Enjoy yours, it looks to be in pretty good shape.
