If you are in good shape, count your blessings. It can turn (change) on a dime.
My life experience has taught me that you can plan all you want, do the 'right' things, but if luck goes sour, you can be Fked right quick.
One thing I did right was get the PhD in chemistry. It has kept me afloat with a good paying job even when 80k on the CCs in the hole.
