Need help inputing gpx file from data logger to iphone gps.

As I am lucky enough to travel around the US on photography trips, I have begun using a gps datalogger on my cell phone to log my travels, and also to geotag my images. Lightroom and several other apps will geotag from a gpx file using the time markers.
Everything works great.
My new quest however has me stumped.
I would like to import the gpx data into a gps on my phone -like googlemaps, or whatever- that can give actual driving instructions to get us back close to these areas. That way I can share them with friends. I can see the track on several map programs- but they do not know the roads and cannot give actual driving directions back to the area.
For example if I find a beautiful vista hiking a mile or so from a waypoint, and I have recorded the drive and hike on my datalogger, I need to be able to import this into a map program that can give actual driving directions to the waypoint.
I have tried importing the data as a gpx, kmz, kml files- no luck.

The Porsche board is the smartest bunch around- any ideas??
Thanks
Gary
