Saturday, we went to have lunch with the kids for Father's day. It was a beautiful day and we took the Boxster. Shortly after we left to meet them, I noticed I was about to turn a small milestone, 30,000.
Friday, I'd gotten the car back from the dealer for some minor work (had them adjust the top a bit and replace a tail light lens that was losing it's color internally). It's CPO until this fall, so the work was free. They washed it like they do, so it was looking great.
We went to lunch and on the way home, the missus asked to stop by a store with cheap stuff for your home decoration needs. We went in, wandered around 15-20 mins and came back out with what we needed. When I went to put it in the trunk, I discovered that my car had been keyed apparently by Zorro, because it looks like a Z. It was in one of the first parks closest to the door. Fortunately, it's not too deep or too large. It's on the trunk lid only. My wife was much more upset about it than me. I'm certainly not happy, but I think it's probably a good thing that I didn't catch them, because I'm not sure what I'd have done, but it may have attracted the attention of the authorities. I'll get it painted, and hopefully it won't be more than $500.
Still, hasn't really changed that I love the car, and had a great day with the family.
Now I just have to find a good shop to do the paint.
