Some of the fuel pumps have a sound deadening case around them and are not that loud....
Any starting, or driving issues? It's possible the sob is about to let go. either way I would at a min buy a new filter and a Bosch pump. You'll see the condition of the strainer when you pull everything. It's so you don't kill your new pump.
