Also cover the positive battery to keep it from grounding on collapsed body work in the event of an accident. That could cause much merriment next to the fuel system. In addition to the battery terminal cover, I've fashioned a couple piece of heavy rubber (like an old inner tube) to tuck in between the battery positive terminal and the car body.
