Lindsey "boost enhancer" as manual boost controller?
What are the drawbacks to using the boost enhancer as a manual boost controller, or in place of the controller? Obviously you can set max boost from within the cab with a manual boost controller, but boost enhancer adjustment takes less than 5 minutes.
I ask because I have the Lindsey manual boost controller ready to hook up the boost system, but decided to play with the enhancer before I did. The enhancer seems to be consistent at setting max boost. I know they can be "spikey", but it's been consistent after a cleaning.
I'm not going for a huge boost increase, just a relatively safe 14-15 psi, so the boost enhancer seems sufficient. Either component is regulating the pressure to the wastegate, and the manual boost controller would be expected to be more consistent and easier to adjust, but -- in this particular case -- what are the flaws in my train of thought?
Thanks.
