The funny thing is that a properly executed Rockford or J turn isn't that hard on the drive train, just the tires. Emphasis here on
properly executed, timing is everything in terms of shifting into D during the fulcrum of the turn and using the momentum of the car to minimize the shock to transmission when accelerating forward.
