Everyone is different, and what is comfortable now it will change over time. You'll just have to try a lot of different shoes, try to identify what hurts (just your feet or do your knees and back hurt too?).
I've been all over the map with shoes, from racing flats to custom orthotics. Now the most comfy for me is a hiking boot with a really, really stiff sole and a Spenco insert.
If I did this to my foot I'd be limping for a week.
