Fred and Augie with their marine in-line 12 aluminum block - 10' long powering a 40 hydroplane named Disturber IV

Below: 2 all aluminum mirror-image engines, 12 cylinders each. 6.75" bore, 7.5 in stroke, 3,221 cu in (52.8 L), 2700 lbs, 800 hp at 1,600 rpm, 2,700 lbs. Combined the fuel burn was 132 gallons per hour.

Water-jacketed exhausts

What kind of strength does it take to turn that wheel?

And what kind of a man does it take to brave Lake MI under those conditions - in 1913!!!
