I was fixing the A/C in my son's car and I had a big hole worn in a high pressure aluminum line. I did a google search and found this part. Called a Dorman splice that is made to repair this.
found it on Amazon for $20 and for $3 more they shipped it overnight. 10 AM the next day I had it in my mail box. the tube was 3/8 inch and that is the size I bought.

I cut 1" out of the pipe and debured the aluminum and installed the splice, and tightened it. It cured the whole thing and with the line in place of the car!!
Here are a few more photos:
here is the hole in the line.

this connection is probably better than any others in the system. I vacuumed down well and fixed this huge leak perfectly. To remove the line would have taken hours and a rebuild or new line would be pricey.
By the way this was done on a 2004 Saab Aero wagon........but of course it will work on P cars new and old with aluminum lines. A very cool part that can save big time and money. And you end up with a very professional repair.
I just had to share this with you......maybe it will help you out.
