The bike is generally the best exercise for the knees. That's what is so frustrating. I paid an olympic cycle trainer for a professional fitting (saddle height, crank length, peddle cleat angle, etc)) and to check my peddle cadence and posture. Nothing helped. It's apparently an "over-use" problem complicated by age.
