As your car ages, the coolant tank ages about 2 1/2 times faster due to poor construction and poor material. The tank expands as the water gets hot and leaks coolant. Sometimes it only leaks from the bottom and drops coolant onto your suspension, other times it leaks into the trunk. Just got done have a new tank installed when the IMSB was being retrofitted. My tank had a crack that only leaked when the tank expanded. If it all of sudden blows up, you'l be parked along the side of the road. The mechanic that replaced my tank said there's a wire bundle and if you push it aside, it's a bit easier to replace. I was going to do it myself but they cut me deal on labor since the transaxle was out to facilitate the IMSB (also easier to do if the transaxle is out)
