Sounds like the PERFECT beginning to your future "I shoulda gotten a PPI" cautionary tale. Good luck with that.
Devil's Advocate: If this particular vehicle has a non numbers matching engine or transmission, needs major mechanical or body work, it could easily be worth "only" the asking price.
If the vehicle is located in NorCal, have Tom Amon do a mobile PPI.
Good luck. Everybody loves a deal, but foregoing a PPI is folly.
