Had a deep root planing a couple of months ago. I HATE novacaine. Hate being numb long after the procedure. I've had quite a bit of dental work done with not anesthesia at all. They used some sort of gel for the deep cleaning, but that was it. Wasn't nearly as bad as having a filling done without chemical help. They offered NOs, but that wouldn't have been covered by insurance so I passed.
