Ride On, Ride On... to He!! and Gone
OK Coral
OK Coral
There the outlaw band made their finial stand
OK Coral
Oh my dearest one must die
Lay down my gun
Or take the chanch of losing you forever
Duty Calls
My backs against the wall
Have you no kind words to say
Before I ride away
Your Love
Your Love
I need your Love
Keep the flame
let it burn untill I return
From the Gunfight at OK Coral
If the Lord is my friend
We'll meet at the end
Of the Gunfight at OK Coral
OK Coral
OK Coral
There the outlaw band made their finial stand
Oh my dearest one must die
Boothill
Boothill
So Cold
So Still
There they lay side by side
The killers that died in the Gun Fight at Ok Coral
OK Coral
Gunfight at OK Coral.......
Boothill
Boothill
So Cold
So Still
Wyatt Earp they say saved Doc Holliday
from old Boothill......
Boothill
Boothill
So Cold
So Still
Wyatt roamed the west
And though he fought the best
By nature he prefered it nice and peaceful
Sort of slow
And sort of easy go
But he was quick on the draw
and Wyatts word was law....
Ride on
Ride on
To he!! and gone
Wyatts heart was sad
He would give all he had
To stay
Stay on
Wyatt stay
He left her crying there
He broke his vow
And rode away to Tombstone
Boothill
Boothill
So Cold
So Still
Will Doc and his friend
Will both of them end in the graveyard known as Boothill...
Boothill
Boothill
So Cold
So Still
There they lay side by side
The killers that died
At the Gunfight at OK Coral
These are the lyrics from the score for the movie Gunfight At OK Coral...staring Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Rhoda Fleming, Jo Van Fleet, John Ireland....with Dennis Hopper, Martin Milner, Earl Holiman, De Forest Kelly etc. Directed by John Sturges, Screenplay by Leon Uris
The score was written by Dimitri Tiomkim And sung by Frankie Lane. This is a case where the score and lyrics make an ordinary Western saga into a Great Movie. Frankie Lanes voice is so memorable in singing these lyrics...Here they use the song lyrics as a narrative device...and as a bridge to the next scene (episode) in the movie.
Each time they use the scores lyrics....The camera is using a long shot of Western Scenery, with riders slowly approaching, and eventually passing a Boothill. The last shot is of Wyatt (Lancaster) riding past Tombstone's Boothill riding into the sunset.
This is truly one of the Best Westerns made....I will watch the movie just to listen to the score on this one.
