The teacher was trying to explain the vascular system to a class of elementary school students.
He posed the question, "If I stand on my head, all the blood rushes to my head. Why doesn't the blood all rush to my feet when I stand up again?"
Came the response from the back, "'Cause your feet aren't empty."
