I have a commute of 100 miles (each way). Right now, only the Tesla Model S will get from home to work and back. But I don't have $100K to buy a car. So for me, a minimum of 220 mile range is necessary. (Can't count on being able to plug-in at the offices to where I go.) It's also not practical to have to stop off 'bout halfway and visit a supercharger. I don't need to turn my 1.5 hour commute (each way) into a 2 hour commute.
