more info about motor

First off, thanks to all who are helping solve this mystery.

The fan shroud Id tag is missing which is proving to be a major problem in this quest. As for the distributor it is a Bosch #
0 231 184 001 JFUD6.

Some research has provided some info that brings perspective on this motor. The original owner was a US strategic bomber pilot who was stationed in Germany and the UK. When not threatening the ex communist states of Europe, he was building and racing Porches. Someone who knew him claims he had direct factory contacts due to location- yes I am attempting to contact him for some help on specifics. It may come down to an actual measurements of all the internal components to see what I have here. A previous owner ( not the original) claims to have had the Targa body over 150mph in Ontario several times with little difficulty-- is this possible with a "common 74 cis?? Although it had a very healthy top end speed it never idled hence the engine removal. What a mess. Please pass along any thoughts and I will post a picture of that engine #.
