A couple days ago, I was briefly discussing a garage door purchase for a project here in MN. Just standing in the garage, talking different types of doors, approx. prices, etc. With a good friend.
The next time I log onto this BBS, there is a banner ad for garage doors in MN. I never discussed it here. Or anywhere else online. I'm sure of it. No text messages. No emails. Just a face to face conversation for maybe 5 minutes.
WTF? I mean really, what in the actual fk?
Someone told me that there are programs that actually listen to you through your smart phone when you are talking. I have an iPhone 6 and it was in my pocket locked during this conversation.
This is pretty diabolical. Is there ANY other possible explanation for this targeted marketing? keep in mind that I live in CA. but I'm in MN. right now. I never said the word "Minnesota" in the conversation, why would I? It knew that I'm here and put a very specific ad on Pelican for me.
Weird.
