IOC passes the buck

So the IOC decides to let the individual International Federations of each sport decide on a sport-by-sport basis whether or not to ban athletes and run their own tests despite overwhelming evidence that Russia engaged in state-sponsored doping on a massive, decades-long scale. Oh, and these other Federations have just 12 days to test each athlete. Someone is getting greased by Russia. Talk about the tail wagging the dog. Yulia Stepanova, the whistle-blower who risked her life to expose Russia's machinations? They ban her.

The IOC has lost all credibility. What does a country have to do to get banned?

The Olympics were always such a wonder to me; incredible athletes putting on incredible displays; world records made and broken; stories of overwhelming odds, personal sacrifices. Maybe my cynicism is getting the better of me but, the IOC has become just another corporation that has lost its way.
