Morning
Our city schools first day of school is today. Let's see, the schools are low on funds so they are starting the school year earlier making the school year have a higher number hotter days requiring more electricity to run the A/C. Sure, that makes sense. They don't teach anything about balancing checkbooks, budgeting, or running a household so why would they be able to manage the school budget. I wonder for the entire city school system what the electric bill is to have the school open on a 100°F day versus and 80°F day later in the spring. They claim the A/C is on all summer anyway. No wonder they are having money problems.
They say they want to start the school year earlier so there are more teaching days before the standardized testing in the spring. Let not move the testing dates to the end of the year they claim is difficult to teach kids anyway.
