Dear 350 HP, My daughter, age 33, is in the real world right now. And, she's never been in jail, makes a good living as an RN, doesn't do dope , is working on her second hubby. I guess, by today's standards, Cindy & I did our jobs as parents. My objection to the government screw-alls didn't come from a feeling of censorship. Quite the contrary. We did our best to teach her of the world as it exists. My problem with the government school system is that it teaches only one values system, and that is secular humanism. If that isn't censorship, I don't know what is. Censorship by omission is still censorship, right? Silly me, but I always thought it should be the right of the parents to teach values...be they muslim, humanism, christian, agnostic, athieism, paganism, or whatever. It's NOT the job of a public school teacher or "so-called" counselor to preach basic values. But they do...boy, do they! These values? Well, Kipland Kinkel's parents, murdered by their son, were "professional educators", working in the Government school system. Go figure.
(edit) To keep this on subject...if a sniper type picks on my daughter? He'd better not miss. One of the "politically incorrect" skills I taught her was shooting, and other methods of self defense. She's pretty good, and has a carry permit in the state she now lives in. My hope is that one of these "sniper" cretins gets taken out by somebody with a license to carry.
