I think the air path on a PT-6 is interesting. Air scoop on the front, ducted to the rear of the engine compartment where the air intake is with exhaust back at the front of the nacelle, inches from the intake.
So the air does a 180 twice.

Air intake at the front of the nacelle, ducted to the turbocharger way back behind the pilot and back up to the carb at the engine. Something like 15' of duct, intake to carb.
But then, turbo lag was not an issue at all.
