I will tell you frankly that all new trucks are excellent. I bought a 2015 Tundra 4x4 TRD in 2014 but looked at and drove every 1/2 Ton on the market.
There was not a clunker in the bunch.
For me it came down to price. My neighborhoods best friend owns the local Toyota dealership and I have established a friendship with him as well. I got the friends and family deal.
I have owned the truck 22 months and have 43,000 miles on it.
I average 17.2 miles a gallon in mixed driving. My daily commute is 20 miles round trip so I'm good with it. When I travel for work mileage is paid for.
The performance is really quite something. It tows all the farm stuff perfectly, handles well and cruises like an F-22.
