My mother was always home for me when I was growing up, and I spent alot of time out doors playing neigborhood sports, or using my imagination....I can tell the difference in the way I react to things compared to my two kids. They were brought up in a home where I had to work 6-7 days a week in a hot factory, and my wife had a 9-5 office job, so when we got home, we were tired, a meal had to be fixed, homework had to be done, and chores had to be finished.....but at least we were there to support and help.
New parents raising young kids today have the whole electronic distraction world to worry about, which teaches kids to have a very short attention span, and easily bored. They honestly don't know what to do with themselves if they aren't pacified 100% of the time.....this creates ticking timebombs waiting to detonate.
