All jokes aside, 99.9% of the experienced, professional engine builders agree that for a non-turbo engine, not built to hand grenade levels, the OEM steel studs are more than strong enough/work perfectly (and the OEM steel ones are inexpensive - several engine builders even sell used steel ones to people just wanting to replace the bottom row of dilivars). And of course, if you have a magnesium case engine, then case saver stud boss inserts should definitely be installed.
