e30 leaker
The tail lights let rain into the trunk. When the bulb holder is removed there was water inside. Carefully re-fitting the gasket helped but eventually I just put a small line of dark caulk across the top of the lens.
Other leak in the engine bay is caused by a gap in the fender to body connection and is seen when the rubber molding is removed. Judicious caulking there also has kept out the rain. I lost my '02 to rust and my e21 also, hopefully the e30's will last.
