If you're serious you have to think about a Miata.
If it's German it's going to cost you money.
Are you trying to win at autocross? That's a huge factor.
Track days on the other hand are non-competitive events. Everybody wins at an HPDE. Track days are all about having fun.
The basic rule for winning is to buy what the fast guys are running. In most cases that's going to be a Miata.
