WOW. I remember going in the mid-70s, and it was possible to walk out on the lawn when they were staging the cars. Maybe 20-25 people wandering around. Ticket prices were in the $20s. Significant portion of the crowd was dressed in vintage clothing...

Glad I got to see that.

2014, I went and on the lawn in front of the lodge were some exotics and a big crowd all excited to see Jay Leno, when 80 feet away, Derek Bell was standing by a car, apparently unrecognized. Different crowd these days. Not really a 'car crowd.'
