1974 targa "s" engine serial #
Hello again all. Regarding a 1974 Targa "S" VIN# 9114112451. The green shroud engine in the car serial # begins with 645 which is a 1975 engine. A 1974 engine should begin with 614- is this correct? If the engine is not original, how much does this effect the car's value? If the original owner nuked the original engine in the first year of ownership, would Porsche have put in a new 1975 engine as a replacement? Is it common for engine numbers to overlap in the 1970"s or is this a solid engine replacement scenario. Either way I love the car but want to know if a non-original engine really kills the car's collector value? Thanks for your replies!
