Have you driven an example of these cars? Quite different than a 74. I can't comment on relative values but suffice it to say that 993/964s usually need suspension work, as the struts, bushings, drop links, steering racks, boots etc., frequently need attention after (+-) 20 years....and the fact is many examples haven't had any work done on those components. When I was looking for and driving a number of 993s, I found literally all of them required work in this area, including the one I eventually bought. I also own an 85 and the relative complexity of the cars is quite dramatic. Anyway good luck in the hunt.
