Ahhh, makes sense!
In case anyone is interested, I convert steel short hoods into long hoods -- as another way to back date and keep things "bolt-on". This uses the stock latch and latch panel, just bolt-on the new hood and return your original short hood to me for core to make the next guy's hood. I think it looks pretty factory!
