Since we used to make a lot of prints at a certain scale like 1"=400' or 1"=880 feet we have a lot of engineers rulers around here. They are 12 inches long and have a triangle shape with 10th 20th 30th 40th 50th and 60th of an inch. It is not often anyone in the regular world measures something in 40ths of an inch. The rulers don't even have the standard divisions like 1/4 1/8th and 16th. We have dozens of them. And an old slide rule! |
the technical tern for those is "scale" not ruler.
