Shift knob selection seems to really depends on your ergonomic preferences. Personally, I like a shift knob that puts my hand in a vertical (hand shake) position. Others prefer a horizontal hand position. I would think that if you prefer the latter, you would be more suited to the round-style knobs, as opposed to the stick-style knobs. Just an observation.

Good point. I never thought of it, but I guess that's why I like mine. I prefer the horizontal feel. I think the factory ss stick is shorter. I could be wrong, though. But either way, I'm "on top" of the know, or "over it" , so the round knob is better for me. I think the ergo knobs would be better for a 996, with a tall tunnel. But that's just my two cents.
