My car is a 1988 911. I read here or on Rennlist that there is another shop in SF that was started by a former Stable mechanic, but I haven't been able to dig that up again. I just want to take it to someone who specializes in air-cooled Porsches.

Call Tom Amon at Mobile Works West. Tom only works on air cooled Porsches for the last 35+ years. He will also come and do the work at your place if that's your preference. Awesome mechanic and really nice guy to work with.
