I was raised Catholic, 12 years in a Catholic Academy taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph. I was even an alter boy.
I'm pleased to say that I'm no longer under the influence of that guilt-laden programmed docility.
Maturation - Liberation. It was a good thing, a coup really, to finally allow myself to become the person who I was meant to be...rather than remain a slave to religiosity.
