I have had moments of fear of dying, but those were all on the highways. In truth I quit riding two wheels because I realized the "nut holding the handlebars" was not to be trusted.
In the past 19 years, I have said, "Goodbye" to Father, Mother, good friends and co-workers and three brothers. I miss them all, but tend not to worry about my future.
Yesterday, I had lunch with a group of (mostly octogenarian) cousins and siblings. There are certainly some good genes in the family tree and I manage to avoid most of the early killers
When thoughts t.urn to the end, my worst fear is losing my beloved partner of 42 years. I know it will come, as will the end of time for all of us.
I'm only in my 60's, so as I said, I tend not to waste a lot of time on the subject. (She is the official worrier in the family.)
