not while I have owned it.
If these things are that fragile that they break that easy (previous bend or not- how much force would you have to put on it to bend it?) basically if you are not the original owner of the car, and know the complete history, throw it away and set up something that can be trusted. And even if you do know it's complete history, it's crap, throw it. don't rely on it for the purpose it was designed for.
OK it's 34 years old, (but probably would not have got much use in that time span) it's a cheap casting, when will it let go? who knows?
screwed both ways, difficult to get to the tie downs on the rails as the dam is in the way. and nothing else to get a grab on without destroying the dam.
Not a one off either, a guy on rennlist has had the same thing happen.
