I understand the point of the story.
It simply strikes me as at least ironic (but closer to worse) that a derogatory term would be used to describe the person being bullied.
disclaimer: I'm far from perfect myself and am not trying to be a jerk but thought the point was relevant considering M.D. has authored a few books in which terminology plays a prominent role.
