When I was care-taking an elderly couple in Portland, back in 2010, the wife died in front of me from a cardiac arrest.
She was 4 lbs. shy of 600, according to the hospital. Age 60.
I learned a great deal from that time...a wonderful and beautiful woman.
I have a different view of obesity now. It's mostly psychological.
I find myself not passing judgement much any more.
I used to rake fat people over the coals, in my mind.
