I make something similar. My wife calls it Man Food Casserole (because, she says, it's something only a man would make - or eat).
1 lb lean ground beef
1 lb rotinni or elbow macaroni
1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can Campbells Healthy Request cheddar cheese soup
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
Brown the beef and onion, boil the pasta until it's just a bit under done. When the beef and pasta are done put everything in a deep casserole dish (hold back about 1/4 of the cheese). Mix it up well, but don't pack it down, leave ii nice and loose, make sure the surface is nice and three dimensional. Sprinkle the last of the cheese on it. Bake at 350 for 1/2 an hour or 45 minutes, until the pasta on top is crispy.
I eat this stuff like popcorn.
