When I first went to concerts in the late 90's, I was typically paying around $25 a ticket, plus a couple bucks in fees. A really expensive ticket might be $35 and a cheap on $15. I recall picking up decent tickets weeks after they went on sale. There was no hurry. Either way, it was an inexpensive way to spend a day and have a good time. Most of the concerts I went to were either at Alpine Valley or what at the time was called The World.
10 years later, the same bands were $75 a ticket for crappy seats and the (ticketmaster) fees were around $15 dollars. Also, now that tickets could be purchased online, it seemed like tickets for every show would sell out in 10 minutes or less. The whole reason I went to concerts was to relax and be entertained. As soon as it became an expensive and stressful endeavor, I stopped going.
