Generally, from negligible (typical) to lots (e.g. oil overfill, high G cornering, excessive blowby, etc.). Better to visually observe and act on the contents of a catch can via liquid level tube or translucent/clear container. Many master brake cylinder reservoirs have liquid level sensors, but that's overly complicated for typical street application
