Every state is beautiful....
Been to CA many times the beaches Hermosa, etc. SD a few times....sailing in the harbor and in the Pacfic on a '72 restored wooden schooner...beautiful state, but just not me. Fl....lived there a few years...fishing the Oklawaha, St. Mary, lower St John's rivers, sailng, beaches Ponte Vedra, St. Aug etc, sailing/fishing in the Atlantic, the Okeefeennokee swamp is majestic and unique....but I'll take NC over both
