My understanding - and this is complete hearsay and I've got zero references to back this up - is that back in the day Porsche HP/torque numbers were generally stated as "guaranteed minimums" and that actuals were sometimes ~10-20% higher. I'm sure others here on the board have more relevant data on the topic.
