There is no serious intention to stop prostitution. If there were, the penalties would be draconian. Having your name in the police blotter, maybe paying a small fine, is not going to stop a single hooker or madame, and there will always be more johns in the waiting. I think they just do these stings for
PR reasons. If there is serious human trafficking going on, then putting someone away for a 30 yr. mandatory minimum might send a message. But they don't do that either. It's just more meaningless, profit-driven, over-criminalization of an otherwise transaction between consenting adults.
