So.
I buy this Buick, it is clean as a whistle aside from the typical granny rash on a bumper corner...turns out the 'ole girl has a blown head gasket. Likely related to the "new water pump".
Now I'm pissed, right!? Not really.... Determined the issue and that buying a used engine is dramatically less expensive than really spending any time on the existing.
$425 for a 37k mile GM 3.8 Liter V6, 6 month warranty. If I want to get crazy, I can go with the 4k mile example for $800. I asked the guy at the salvage yard if this was a real number 3x, he finally told me he'd be happy to charge more if I wanted.
I'll be replacing the engine in my Buick for what a secondary air-pump cost in my 540. HAHA
